A great car can be ruined by the wrong expectations. I look at cars to see where they truly shine.

Is Every Slow Car Fun To Drive Fast? | Volvo 760 GLE Review
Переглядів 1,4 тис.4 місяці тому
I use this 1989 Volvo 760 to break down whether or not there is any truth to the saying "It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slowly" And in order to find out properly, I have to drive a 2016 Golf GTI, a 1981 Peugeot 505 and a 2001 Mazda Protégé MP3 as well! Thanks for watching! The Volvo 760 is similar to other Volvo 700 series like the 740, or the 900 series like the 940 and...

What engine is in your 760? The PRV V6?
It was the PRV V6 yea
@@200degrees mighty unfortunate, bet its smooth atleast
@@antesosic1600 I enjoyed it, was smooth and moved the car quite well. But I didn't own it long enough to ever test its reliability haha
@@200degrees thats fair enoigh. Yeah anything abobe like 140hp is good enough to move those cars nicley, i myself own an 850 TDi with a 2.5 5cyl, 140hp and oerfectly adequate
Sweet video. Well edited and informative. Nice to have an opinion from Canada! Vive la Twingo I !
I owned a brand new MG Midget in 1973 while I was in College. Loved that little car so much. I am currently looking for another "Harvest " gold '73 Midget to purchase. Thanks for the great video.
When I was younger, I saw a MG Midget at the mall on display. I always wanted one. I think it also came with an automatic transmission. I still want one. I still think it is cool. A company in China owns it now. They have a new MG and it is a SUV called #1. I think they ruined MG; IMO.
We still have our 98 CRV. 144,000 miles. Was my wife’s car for 21 years, our youngest son’s car for a bit and now back to me.
What’s the chances you have the guys number or email? Got a few questions I’d like to ask
Hey! He posted in the facebook groups: "Square Body Duramax Swap" and "Duramax engine swaps" under Dustin Larrimore, or you can look him up on Instagram where he's got some posts on it as well
this car is worth alot in sweden
It was a very nice car, I really liked it! It has less than 130,000km on it too. I sold it to someone as their first car and I believe they are still enjoying it today!
I have a 98 mk3. Up side is the engine still solid at 240k, more but not much more to maintain than a Corolla, seats 4 adults, pretty good gas mileage. Down side is the automatic transmission usually kills them if you didn’t specifically get a manual, the heater is very weak, and VW doesn’t support them so you better be good at melting plastic parts back together or making them out of JBweld and kevlar thread. Also electric windows are flaky.
That sounds accurate! The engine does seem to go forever, that particular MK3 I manual swapped, the Auto had gone so I got a good deal and bought some parts for the swap. So far I haven’t had too many interior problems but that’s good to know what to do about them!
I wish mine was manual
It was my brother’s MG Midget that he owned in the mid-1980s that led to my love of roadsters and why I now own my second Miata.
XXX qilin ❤❤❤❤❤
The old feeling is why i love these old trucks
How hard is it to do ? I've got a high mileage town car I wanna put some life into
If you build or buy your pedal sets before hand, and make sure you read the instructions to make sure you have all the parts before hand, then you could do it in a weekend. Auto transmission came out in 3 hours, holes cut take a bit of time and then put the trans back in. I’d say it was fairly easy
Just this week picked up an ‘11 4.0 2wd Sport supercab with 102k miles (always driven in the West, no rust) almost-flawless exterior in red for $9200 (negotiated down from 10K). Older couple who didn’t know the market value. I put some new shocks on, replaced the tires, and I feel like I made a deal. I camped out on craigslist for two months, learning lots about Rangers, and jumped at this the minute after the ad was live. I also got a ‘93 Miata 5 years ago before prices blew up in a similar manner (knowing *exactly* what I wanted and pouncing as soon as something was available). This video feels just about right. The Ranger does share characteristics with the Miata.
Yes. Its a SOHC engine. But its design is derived from an OHV V6 that goes back to the seventies and used with German Fords, and prior to that, an OHV V4. The SOHC V6 is the final member of a long V6 family.
We need so many more videos of this just so that one girl stops uploading videos. She’s very annoying.
Zizou is not gonna be happy with your pronunciation

I’m building a 77 crew cab . I’m doing the same swap .. lbz
I also have a 77 crew cab.
What is that black smoke coming out from the back?
Old diesels often emit some smoke under load. It’s un burnt fuel. That’s why later models have emissions equipment to combat that smoke and emissions.
FORD FALCON
I just found this channel today, and I just wanted say this channel is awesome. I’m frankly offended that this channel doesn’t have more exposure on UA-cam. Definitely a hidden gem.
Idk about yall but I got my Ranger to be cool I’m cool I got a truck
I have owned many Midgets, they were my daily driver. Living in Massachusetts, we have some heavy snow at times. I drove home in a Midget in a blizzard about 20 miles with a bag of cat litter in the trunk for added weight. Made home just fine, low and slow as they say. Low gear, slow speed 😊. Great cars!
The biggest reason they have a hard time selling gladiators. Is the price.
Yea they are very expensive for what I feel you get, they overprice themselves against half tons and often few people care how off-roady they are so they are fine with a more conventional truck. Especially since they tow more which often is more important.
I own a 2003 G. Marquis LSE and want to manual swap so freaking badly 💪 We all know being caught in Grandpa's car is somewhat embarrassing yet wish we were in one on long trips
I highly recommend it! Especially since you’ve got the LSE package you’ve already got a centre console so it will look great right away!
@@200degrees exactly and still throttle by cable. Thanks for the encouragement and content 🔥
It very funny
I love these old wagons...they deserve all the attention
Bro sick Ranger.. my 2011 only 33978 miles on it .. today may 10 2024 😂.. same color.. but you grill was black my was chrome .. it's just like new every time I drive ..
Brilliant car, brilliant review - thanks. Mine was red with the same wheels and original mirrors further forwards on the front wings. 😊
I just got done subscribing to Davisoffroadrides channel and those guys seeing your presentation would think you are a real fool. Jesus, man if you are gonna cut the shit out of a vehicle don't act like anybody else is twisting your arm to be in it. No ---that truck will never be "economical", and no that truck will never ride like your suburbanite car does, so either promote it positively on you-tube or don't do a video at all----do one on your car, you obviously are a yuppie not a greasy knuckled truck lover especially like I have been for 46 years restoring '67-'72 Chevy/GMC 4x4's and dairy farming for a living !!!!!!!! Jim
Huh, that’s too bad you took the video that way. I said the truck was great fun to drive, sounded good, I said it was one of the most entertaining vehicles I’d ever been in. I said before I even drove it that I loved it. I praised its creativity, its colour choice and how it made me feel (happy if you missed it) Sure I said it wasn’t fuel efficient, but it isn’t, so that’s not really anything other than observation. It’s a big blue mud truck that has a great sounding V8 and makes you smile when you drive it, and since it’s only driven in the summer for fun fuel economy doesn’t matter. And I ended the video saying its flaws are what makes it special. So I’m sorry if that video wasn’t what you liked, I appreciate that you watched it and I hope your restorations on your trucks go well! Cheers
@@200degrees I apologize if I was a bit too touchy on the subject, I think if you knew me and my shop and back ground with nearly 400 1967-1972 Chevy and GMC 4x4 truck resto's under my belt why I reacted like I did. I respect your thoughts and thank you for respecting mine. Take care bud !!!!! Jim & Jill Kiesau
A true 80’s classic! Soccer moms would do grocery with them. Miss the 80’s!
To be fair, the original Mazda Miata was the Lotus Elan, this is well-known. The Japanese stole the sleek design with the pop-up headlights (though their version was bland and derivative ) as well as the engineering creed of Colin Chapman, the head of Lotus - rather than add power, he believed you must ‘add lightness’, and Mazda also strove to create a similarly refined chassis that traded BHP for handling. The English way was to prioritise handling, as on our twisty narrow old roads, cornering speed and ability is more important than straight-line acceleration to achieve fast point-to-point times.
Juat bought a 2014 ESV a few days ago with 70k miles. Had a 1999 Escalade before that. All the older ones before 2015 are good solid trucks.
ŠKAREDÉ. AUTO
Because Tony Soprano drove one just like this.
😮😮
When I was a kid I remembered this being my dream car because those things just had insane road presence

Because of Tony Soprano!!!
I was raised in a black 1998 Lincoln Navigator from birth to 12 years old. Probably would still have it if someone didn’t run a red light.
Idk i removed my sway bar and im lifted im never afraid of sharp corners lil under steer 3 wheeling never hurt nobody
That almost sounds more fun than it did stock! I’m about that life haha
Thanks for the MG Midget review!! Love the early 70s MGs.
I was one of those kids in middle school 😂 well in like 2010 now I have my dads old 2015 Escalade
Did anyone else see the thumbnail and immediately think David Brent?
The og Escalade
I got an 09 Escalade with almost 200k miles, no problems on it
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I'd still rather have a navigator. Even an excursion. And any Cadillac other than this
